Why is the front door locked? What do I do when I arrive?
We share our space with another business without any front desk/reception staff. Therefore, we keep our front door locked while the lobby is empty. If no one is in the lobby to let you in, please make yourself comfortable on the Precision Healing front porch patio furniture. Jess will still be with you by your appointment time 🙂 Feel free to text Jess to let her know if you're early, but please be patient if she is unable to get you in earlier than your scheduled appointment time.
Sugaring/Threading FAQ
What is Sugaring?
Sugaring is similar to body waxing in the sense that it also fully removes the hairs directly from the root. That is the ONLY similarity!
Sugaring uses a paste made of natural & simple ingredients including; sugar, lemon juice, & water. With this paste, we apply it to the skin and remove the sugar using a flicking motion. This removes the sugar from the skin and the hairs come along with it.Â
Why do we love Sugaring?
SO MANY REASONS! Here’s a few..Â
- Simple & natural ingredient makeupÂ
- Gentle on skin (where some wax is too intense)
- Removes hair with hair growth so LESS breakage & ingrowns
- Bacteria cannot survive in high concentrates of sugar
- Less product waste
- More environmentally friendly
- Water soluble paste, no oil necessary & never ruins clothes
What should I do after my Sugaring appointment?
Think of each newly empty follicle as a tiny open wound. Keep that mindset for the following 24 hours after your service. Anything you wouldn't do with an open wound, you will also want to skip for the 24 hours after your appointment. Examples include; excessive sweating, sexual activity, swimming, soaking in baths or hot tubs, sun exposure, exfoliating products/services, etc. Following this mindset will allow the follicles to heal with as little inflammation and irritation as possible.Â
What should I do before my Sugaring appointment?
For best results exfoliate the day before your appointment, avoid sun exposure 24-48hr prior to appointment, stop using Retinol or other active ingredients in your skincare 1-2 weeks before service (depending on service), avoid applying lotions or body oils prior to appointment.Â
Why do I need to rebook my Brazilian Maintenance every 4-6 weeks?Â
Consistency is key when it comes to the best possible outcome and especially Brazilian sensitivity. The more you do it the better it gets. This is true for hair density, regrowth, and pain/sensitivity. Each time we remove a mature hair from the follicle, we are damaging the follicle and forcing the body to grow a whole new hair. The new hairs tend to be thinner, finer, less dense overall, and easier to remove. This means after your first service (remember 1st is the worst) you will see a significant decrease in hair growth and the next service should be easier and less painful.
Can I get a Brazilian while on my period?
YEP! We simply ask you stay as sanitary as possible with the use of tampons or feminine cups. If you are uncomfortable getting serviced while on your cycle, please communicate with us ASAP. Unfortunately, we will not waive late fees for periods but we try to accommodate as best as we can.
Can I still book a Brazilian Maintenance if my last Brazilian was at a different shop?
YEP! We don't play those games at Lilac. If you're last Brazilian was within 6 weeks of your appointment at Lilac Sugaring, you are welcome to book a Brazilian Maintenance. In fact, we prefer it. It helps relay more accurate information to us prior to your appointment.
What is Threading?
Threading is a service that can be traced back to Eastern cultures in India & Iran. This service is used to remove unwanted facial hairs without applying anything to the skin that will cause exfoliation (i.e. Sugaring or Waxing). Sugaring, though much more gentle than waxing, is a highly exfoliating service. For some individuals, that level of exfoliation is not recommended and causes severe trauma to the skin. This is why we offer Threading! Achieve the same results as with Sugaring but keep your skin much happier (and healthier) in the process.Â
Why should I choose Threading over Sugaring?
Easy answer... If your skin cannot handle the exfoliation from Sugaring or you personally prefer Threading.Â
A more detailed explanation…
Though Sugaring is much more gentle on the skin than waxing, it is still a highly exfoliating service. With a highly exfoliating service like Sugaring (or waxing) we always recommend to stop using any skincare products with active ingredients, such as Retinol, Retin-A, Vitamin A, etc., a minimum of 1-2 weeks prior to any exfoliating services. This will allow your skin to regain the strength needed to endure the exfoliation of Sugaring. There are many other reasons that a client would be recommended to Threading vs Sugaring, to list a few;Â
- Acne MedicationÂ
- Antibiotics or prescription steroidsÂ
- Recent sun exposure or burning
- Recent chemical peel or other facial treatments
- Skin rash/flare-up
Vajacial FAQ
What is a Vajacial?
It’s a FACIAL but for your Vulva! A vajacial is a specialized facial treatment for the bikini area designed to rejuvenate and care for delicate skin. It typically involves a combination of cleansing, gentle exfoliation, and targeted extractions to help reduce ingrown hairs and irritation—especially after waxing or sugaring.
30-45 minute service to treat yourself to the self-care you deserve. Prevents/Remove ingrown hairs, brighten skin, even skintone & texture, and most importantly to TREAT YOURSELF!
Custom Service may include: Deep Cleanse, Steam, Exfoliating Treatment, Extractions, LED Light Treatments, Professional masks or serums, &/or a Custom Hydrojelly Mask.
When should I come in for a Vajacial?
Recommended for 1 week to 10 days since your previous Sugaring or waxing service (1/2 between next service). **Must be a min of 7 days since previous hair removal!
See our Bare Necessities Vajacial service option. We do not provide this service immediately after hair removal services.
What is the difference between the Classic Vajacial and the Bare Necessities (aka Post-Sugaring) Vajacial?
The Classic Vajacial is an incredible service to get the best results during the time period between Brazilian services. During this service we will do extractions and use products that provide heavy exfoliation. Due to the heavy exfoliation, it is not recommended for immediately after hair removal services. Custom Service may include: Deep Cleanse, Steam, Exfoliating Treatment, Extractions, LED Light Treatments, Professional masks or serums, &/or a Custom Hydrojelly Mask.
The Post-Sugaring Vajacial is a much more gentle/mini version of the Classic Vajacial. This service is aimed toward starting your Brazilian off with a bang! More geared toward hydration & bacteria-killing products & tools. Due to the highly exfoliating service that was previously performed, Sugaring, we do not use any other exfoliating products on the skin during this service.
Who is a good candidate for a vajacial?
Anyone who experiences ingrown hairs, bumps, dryness, discoloration, or uneven texture in their bikini area can benefit from a vajacial. It's especially helpful for clients who regularly wax or sugar, as it helps prevent and treat post-hair removal irritation. Vajacials are suitable for all skin types and tones.
What does a Vajacial include?
A typical vajacial at Lilac Sugaring includes:
-
A gentle cleanse to remove any buildup or debris
-
Steam and exfoliation to soften the skin and loosen dead skin cells
-
Manual extractions of any visible ingrown hairs or clogged pores
-
A soothing, targeted mask to calm inflammation or brighten the skin
-
A hydrating finish with serums and moisturizers formulated for intimate skin
Note: Treatments will be customized based on your skin’s needs.
Will a Vajacial hurt?
The treatment is designed to be comfortable and relaxing. You may feel some slight discomfort during ingrown hair extractions if needed, but it’s usually quick and manageable. Most clients find the overall experience very soothing.
Can I get a vajacial if I’m on my period?
Yes, 100% you can! Just be sure to wear a tampon or menstrual cup. If you feel more sensitive during your cycle, you may choose to reschedule as long as it's before the cancellation window, but it’s totally up to your comfort level.
How often should I get a Vajacial?
We recommend vajacials every 4–6 weeks as part of your regular skin maintenance, especially if you’re dealing with ongoing concerns like ingrowns or hyperpigmentation. For more stubborn skin issues, more frequent treatments may be recommended at first. Our Bare Necessities Vajacial is a great complimentary treatment to your regular Sugaring services.
Can I get a vajacial while pregnant?
Yes, Vajacials are generally safe during pregnancy! We use gentle, non-toxic products and tailor the treatment to your comfort. Always let your esthetician know if you’re expecting so we can avoid any ingredients or steps that may not be recommended during pregnancy.
Do Vajacials include hair removal?
No, Vajacials do not include hair removal. They are skin treatments that are often performed as a solo treatment or after Sugaring but do not involve any removal themselves. If you’d like both services, we recommend scheduling our Bare Necessities (aka Post-Sugaring) Vajacial or booking your hair removal first, then returning for a Classic Vajacial 5–10 days later for best results.

RAPID | Light (tan) - 2hr, Med - 4hr, Dark 6hr+
CLASSIC | Light 6-8hr, Med 8-12hr, Dark 12hr (let us know if you want to be EXTRA dark, can spray heavier)
How to rinse off?
For your first rinse after a spray tan, use lukewarm water—avoid hot water, soap, or scrubbing. Rinse and gently run hands over skin to ensure bronzer is fully rinsed off. Make sure there's no more bronzer by ensuring the water is running clear. Pat your skin dry with a towel (don’t rub), and moisturize afterward to help maintain your tan.
Will my tan look orange?
No! Infinity Sun is formulated to give a natural, golden-brown tan. Proper prep and aftercare help maintain the best color. Following your Spray Tan artists instruction is highly recommended!
How long does a spray tan last?
Typically 5-7 days with good aftercare. Moisturized & Hydrated skin holds color longer. Ask us about retail options to extend and prolong your tan to 7-10 days!!
How should I prepare my skin before a spray tan?
Exfoliate 24 hours before using a non-oil-based scrub. Shave or wax in advance. Arrive with clean, product-free skin (no lotion, deodorant, perfume, or makeup).
Should I shave or wax before my tan?

Who can get a Spray Tan?
Everyone is welcome at Lilac Sugaring!! If you have penis anatomy, we ask you wear an undergarment of your choice. If you have penis anatomy and do not want tan lines, please contact Jess directly to discuss procedure.
What should my first rinse be like?
Use lukewarm water only, no soap, no scrubbing. Rinse & gently rub with your hands under the water for until the bronzer rinses off. Remember areas like your neck/chin, elbows, knees, etc.
Why is my tan lighter after rinsing?
The instant bronzer washes off, but the DHA is still developing for the next 24 hours. Especially for Rapid tans.
Can I use soap during my first rinse?
No! Wait 24 hours before using soap.
Does a spray tan protect me from the sun?
No! Spray tans don’t contain SPF, so always wear sunscreen!!
How does a spray tan work?
The active ingredient, DHA (dihydroxyacetone), reacts with amino acids in your skin to create a temporary tan that develops over several hours.
Can I get a spray tan if I’m pregnant?
Many pregnant clients get spray tans safely, but we always recommend you consult with your doctor first. If you decide to move forward with a spray tan, make sure to let your tech know, because hormonal changes can weaken the effect of the DHA (aka lighter tan)
Can I get a spray tan while breast feeding?
Yes! We do not recommend spraying directly over the nipples or even breast area. Use of a bikini or tube top is helpful. We do have nipple cover stickers available too! Make sure to let your tech know, because hormonal changes can weaken the effect of the DHA (aka lighter tan).
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Yes! Infinity Sun solutions are paraben-free, vegan, and enriched with natural botanicals. However, if you have concerns, request a patch test first.
Pre Tan Questions:
How should I prepare my skin before a spray tan?
Exfoliate 24 hours before using a non-oil-based scrub. Shave or Wax in advance. Arrive with clean, product-free skin (no lotion, deodorant, perfume, or makeup). Sugaring can be done day of or immediately before the tan, however some clients experience some imperfections with their tans with this strategy. Contact us for more info/questions!
Can I use Dove soap before my tan?
No! Dove and other moisturizing soaps leave a residue that can cause streaking. Use an oil-free, non-moisturizing body wash.
Should I shave or wax before my tan?
Yes! Shave at least 12 hours before and wax at least 24–48 hours before to allow pores to close.
Can I exfoliate the day of my spray tan?
Yes, however it’s best to exfoliate the day before to prevent skin sensitivity. But some exfoliation is better than none.
Can I wear deodorant, lotion, or perfume to my appointment?
No! These create a barrier and may cause uneven absorption.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Loose, dark clothing and comfy shoes. Avoid tight bras, socks, or anything that could rub against your skin.
Can I get a spray tan if I have dry skin?
Yes! But hydrate well in the days leading up to your tan and use a DHA-safe moisturizer afterward. Following your first rinse, moisturize 2-3x per day.
Will my tan cover stretch marks or scars?
Spray tan won’t completely cover scars, but it can help blend them depending on the condition (hyper-pigment vs hypo-pigment) and location of the scar. Stretch marks may absorb the tan differently.
Can I get a spray tan over a sunburn?
No! Peeling skin will cause patchy results. Wait 6-8+ weeks until your skin heals.
Can I tan if I have acne?
Yes! Avoid oil-based skincare before your session, and let us know if you use acne medications, as they can affect how the tan develops. It is also important to know the use of acne products on the skin will cause the Tan to fade quicker.
Rinsing & First Shower FAQs:
Can I rinse earlier if I get Rapid Ultra Dark?
Yes! But rinsing too soon may result in a lighter tan. Follow your tech's recommendation.
What should my first rinse be like?
Use lukewarm water only, no soap, no scrubbing. Rinse & gently rub with your hands under the water for until the bronzer rinses off. Remember areas like your neck/chin, elbows, knees, etc.

No! Wait 24 hours before using soap.
What if I forget and use soap?
Your tan may not fully develop, but keep moisturizing to maintain color.

No! Avoid exfoliating until your tan starts fading. Any exfoliation can cause tan to fade or be removed. Once your tan starts to fade, gently exfoliating evenly throughout the body will help the tan fade subtly.
Post-Tan & Aftercare FAQs
When can I work out after my spray tan?

Can I go swimming?
Chlorine and saltwater can fade your tan quickly. If you swim, rinse & moisturize immediately after. Avoid soaking for prolonged amounts of time. 'Quick dips' are ideal.

Can I apply self-tanner over my spray tan?
Yes! A gradual tanner can help maintain color between sessions. We love the Infinity Sun Tan Me BB! Ask us about Retail options.

Bryght FAQ
What is Bryght?
The Bryght Professional 4-Step Treatment is a gentle, pain-free, non-invasive hyperpigmentation brightening treatment designed to even out skin tone and reduce hyperpigmentation—without any harsh chemicals or downtime. It’s hydroquinone-free, all-natural, and safe for even the most sensitive areas.
The professional treatment includes a 4-step system using LED, Sonic, & Ion technology. Treatments generally take 20-30 minutes depending on the client’s skin and treatment area.Â
How it works:
Step 1: Cleanse — gently removes traces of dirt, creams, lotions or oils that are found on the skin, while natural-ly preparing the skin to better absorb steps 2-4.Â
Step 2: Exfoliate – A gentle exfoliant breaks down oils & debris trapped on the skin and helps remove dead skin cells, smoothing the area and allowing the brightening ingredients to penetrate more effectively.
Step 3: Brighten – A concentrated brightening serum targets dark spots and discoloration, working to even out your skin tone & inhibit further melanin production.
Step 4: Set — step 4 is a concentrated finishing lotion that locks in and seals steps 1-3. Not only does it provide soothing protection, it hydrates and cools the skin. Cooling the skin’s temperature inhibits further melanin production, preserving the lightening effects for longer lasting results.
What to Expect:
Most clients see 1-3 shades brighter after just one treatment, with continued improvement over time. The number of professional treatments needed varies based on the person, the area being treated, and the cause of the hyperpigmentation.
At Lilac Sugaring, your first Bryght treatment includes the Bryght Duo Kit—a take-home system including 2 products; Prep Cleanser & Treatment Gel, designed to maintain and enhance your results between treatments. This at-home care is key to achieving your skincare goals & keeping your skin bright and even! Daily-weekly use recommended, varies by client.Â
The Bryght website has a lot of great information regarding ingredients, results, and FAQs. We highly recommend visiting their website to help answer any questions you may have and check out awesome before & after images!Â
